LIGCA invites children and young people worldwide to showcase their dreams and aspirations for Ukraine through art.
We encourage you to unleash your imagination and tell us your own story by creating a drawing, painting, pastel, print, or collage, and sharing it with us. Your unique perspective is important and can inspire positive change and make a difference in the world.
Our goal is to bring this virtual exhibition to life by displaying your artworks at a high-profile venue.

24th February 2022 marks a significant turning moment in human history. It has dramatically changed the lives of Ukrainians, and has had a profound impact on people around the globe, in various ways. Some have experienced horrific events in Ukraine first-hand as witnesses or victims. Others have gained insight into the crisis through personal accounts shared by Ukrainian friends, classmates, and neighbours seeking refuge and support from individuals and communities in these turbulent times. Still others are emotionally affected by the regular news coverage and visuals depicting the situation in Ukraine.
Any war becomes very personal. It is all about the trauma and tragedy of a certain person — a parent, a spouse, a child. This virtual exhibition is striving to foster a sense of solidarity with those who are struggling amidst the crisis in Ukraine and in other countries affected by devastating armed conflicts.
With a brush or pencil stroke, your vision can become reality. Can you imagine a world where all children, regardless of their background, have access to safe homes, where they can learn and play together in harmony and peace, with equal opportunities to thrive?
Alternatively, you may wish to express your emotions through art to bring attention to the tragic effects of war. In any case, let us come together to celebrate the transformative power of art and strive towards creating a brighter future, not only for Ukraine but for all of us.
24 лютого 2022 року знаменує важливий поворотний момент у нашій історії. Ця дата кардинально змінила життя українців та по-різному вплинула на людей по всьому світу. Дехто став свідками чи жертвами жахливих подій в Україні. Інших зворушили особисті розповіді українських друзів, однокласників та сусідів, яким люди та громади пропонують притулок та підтримку у ці бурхливі часи. Треті щодня схвильовано дивляться репортажі та читають новини про Україну.
Будь-яка війна стає особистою. Це завжди травма і трагедія певної людини — батька, мати, чоловіка, жінки, дитини. Сподіваємося, що наша віртуальна виставка викличе почуття солідарності з тими, хто страждає від руйнівних збройних конфліктів – в Україні та в інших куточках землі.
За допомогою пензля чи олівця ваше бачення може перетворитися на реальність. Про що ви мрієте? Про завтрашній мирний день, в якому всі діти незалежно від походження та соціального статусу живуть у безпеці та гармонії, навчаються та грають разом і мають рівні можливості для зростання та розвитку?
Чи ви хочете своїм витвором привернути увагу до нищівних наслідків війни? Яку б тему ви не обрали, нумо вірити у трансформаційну силу мистецтва та разом створювати світле майбутнє не лише для України, а й для всіх нас.
What is a Dreamcatcher?
The origin of Dreamcatchers can be traced back to the indigenous cultures of North America. Their purpose was to shield babies and children from bad or harmful dreams by trapping them in the net, while allowing their good and positive dreams to pass through and remain protected.
Ловець снів – древній амулет корінних народів Північної Америки. Його основне завдання – захищати немовлят та дітей від поганих снів. Згідно з повір’ями цей магічний атрибут пропускає лише найкращі сновидіння до людини, яка спить, затримуючи всілякі жахи у свою сітку-павутиння.
How to participate
You can explore various artistic expressions such as painting, drawing, colouring, cutting and pasting, printing, and experiment with any other materials available to you.
Once your artwork is complete, please take a photo of it or preferably scan it, and send us a file in a JPEG format using the form below. Please make sure that the file size does not exceed 5 MB. You may keep the original for yourself.
You are welcome to send along your personal story behind your vision (as a message to other children below).

Коли ваша робота буде готова, сфотографуйте або краще відскануйте її й надішліть нам у форматі JPEG (не важче за 5 Мб), використовуючи форму нижче. Обов’язково зберігайте вашу роботу!
